Dan Conyers, CPO
Mr. Conyers resides in Portland, Oregon, where he manages the care of upper-extremity patients in the Northwest. Over the past several years, he has worked with practitioners and their patients in their local prosthetic offices on behalf of Advanced Arm Dynamics. In addition to these consultation services, he has provided prosthetic services and rehabilitation to patients at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., working with amputees of all levels.
Kristin Gulick, OTR/L, CHT
Ms. Gulick provides pre-prosthetic evaluation and training, prosthetic training and post-prosthetic follow-up to clients receiving services from Advanced Arm Dynamics. Her teaching and interpersonal skills provide patients nationwide with the training that allows them to gain full benefit from their prosthesis. Ms. Gulick also trains therapists in patients’ communities to establish local resources. She frequently shares her knowledge formally at state and national professional meetings and is involved with industry-related research and development.
Kristi Wolfgram
Ms. Wolfgram, who has a congenital below the elbow deficiency, offers patients and their families empathy and guidance for an independent future. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, she received her first prosthesis at six months of age. Since then, body-powered and electrically-powered prostheses have helped her enjoy an extraordinarily accomplished and active life. Ms. Wolfgram earned a degree in broadcasting from Northwest Missouri State University where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and the university’s nationally ranked dance team, The Steppers. She then joined the dance team for The Racers, Omaha's professional basketball team and later joined the dance team for The Omaha Beef, Omaha's national indoor football league. Ms. Wolfgram also teaches dance lessons in tap, jazz, ballet, pom pom and hip hop at a local dance school. As an adolescent, Ms. Wolfgram enjoyed swimming, ice-skating, gymnastics, softball and horseback riding. As an adult she continues activities in dance and water-skiing.
Creighton Uyechi, CPA Creighton Uyechi is the Controller for Advanced Arm Dynamics. His responsibilities include managing the corporate office in California and overseeing the accounting and administrative functions. Although new to the prosthetic industry, he appreciates the valuable service the company provides to its patients. His goal is to provide solid back office support so that the company’s clinicians and facilities can focus on high quality patient care. Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Mr. Uyechi graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. After spending five years in public accounting and receiving his CPA license, he transitioned into private industry in a controller capacity. His industry background includes real estate, private equity investments, import/export, and retail.
Rebecca J. DeLeón Rebecca DeLeón started her career in prosthetics in 1981 at Orthomedics Inc., now Hanger. With a total of 17 years of experience in the prosthetics industry, nine of which are specific to upper-extremity prosthetics, Ms. DeLeón oversees the training of prosthetic technicians, as well as provides quality control and technical support to the prosthetists. In addition, she provides additional support and services for Advanced Arm Dynamics’ work at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She has completed the Otto Bock Myo course twice in her career, each time receiving certification.
Ana Castillo Ana Castillo is the Justifications and Authorizations Coordinator at Advanced Arm Dynamics. She is the contact between the reimbursement agencies and Advanced Arm Dynamics’ team members throughout the authorization process. A vital and often stressful part of each patient’s prosthetic rehabilitation is receiving authorizations from insurance agencies or other sources to aide in reimbursement for prosthetic care; Ms. Castillo facilitates this process to expedite and simplify authorization as much as possible. She has over 16 years of experience in the health insurance industry as well as prosthetics and orthotics. This experience enables her to successfully negotiate the justification and medical necessity for prosthetic rehabilitation and receive authorizations from pertinent parties (reimbursement agencies), allowing patients to concentrate on their prosthetic care and rehabilitation, not funding and payment issues. Ms. Castillo received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University in Long Beach and later attended courses in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining the Advanced Arm Dynamics team, she was employed with Hanger/NovaCare, Aetna and CIGNA gaining experience and knowledge about medical claims, medical terminology and the inner workings of utilization review from the viewpoint of health insurance agencies.
Michelle Miguelez Michelle Miguelez is the Justifications Coordinator for Advanced Arm Dynamics, providing insurance and other reimbursement agencies with the information needed to obtain maximum authorization for prosthetic care. Her goal is to support AAD’s clinical team as well as physicians and patients in effectively communicating the medical and functional necessity of recommended services for successful rehabilitation. Ms. Miguelez has been involved with Advanced Arm Dynamics since the company’s founding in 1998, contributing to articles published in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, a chapter in the Atlas of Orthotics and Prosthetics and the launch of AAD’s initial website. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and Loyola Law School (Los Angeles, California).
