As part of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ comprehensive approach, we collaborate with patients and caregivers to provide counsel and additional assistance with securing insurance authorization. We serve as the liaison between you and your insurance company, advocating for your needs to secure authorization for your comprehensive prosthetic rehabilitation services. Our services include, but are not limited to: prescription fulfillment, letters of medical justification and appeals in the event authorization is denied. Below are just some examples of how Advanced Arm Dynamics assists patients through the insurance approval and payment process.

Case # 1:
A patient, who was injured at work, was having difficulty obtaining authorization from his insurance plan to receive a prosthesis that he wanted. His employer had self-funded insurance, and because of this, they would only cover the less-expensive body-powered hook prosthesis. However, the patient believed that he needed a myoelectric prosthesis with a hand to be able to continue to do the daily requirements of his occupation. Therefore, Advanced Arm Dynamics' skilled team of professionals worked for several months to help the employer understand the patient’s need for the myoelectric prosthesis versus the body-powered prosthesis. The patient is now happily using the prosthesis that he wanted (and deserved) and is able to continue his occupation.

Case #2:
Advanced Arm Dynamics worked with the insurance company of a woman with a congenital limb deficiency to obtain a replacement prosthesis. With the expertise of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ staff, the insurance company was convinced the patient needed an aesthetically pleasing prosthetic for her occupation. The patient received the prosthesis she wanted and was very happy and thankful Advanced Arm Dynamics aided her through the difficulties of dealing with her insurance’s authorization process.

Case #3:
Another example of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ ability to help patients with their insurance challenges was when the team assisted a Medicare patient who needed an above the elbow prosthesis. The team worked with Medicare to educate them about the patient’s specific needs and why a replacement prosthesis was necessary every three to four years. Advanced Arm Dynamics successfully secured payment from Medicare, and the patient has been able to receive his replacement prosthesis without interruption.
