THE REDUCED FRICTION DONNING SYSTEM: Advanced Arm Dynamics offers a unique donning system that is superior to the traditional cotton stockinette. A cotton stockinette creates intense friction against the skin, making it difficult for patients to pull the residual limb into the prosthetic socket without tissue irritation or misplacement. In contrast, the Reduced Friction Donning System is constructed of a state-of-the art material which enables the residual limb to slide smoothly into the prosthetic socket with significantly less effort or irritation.
The Reduced Friction Donning System is placed over the residual limb and drawn through an opening in the socket by the attached weighted lanyard. The reduction of resistance in donning allows for proper positioning of the limb in the prosthetic socket so that overall comfort when wearing the prosthesis is enhanced.
