Advanced Arm Dynamics Awarded $35.92 Million Contract to Provide Upper Extremity Prosthetic Care to Injured Soldiers

Advanced Arm Dynamics, one of the nation’s leading providers of upper extremity prostheses, announced today that it had been awarded a multi-million dollar contract from the Department of the Army.  Advanced Arm Dynamics will be working closely with the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) to provide comprehensive prosthetic services to injured soldiers.  Advanced Arm Dynamics is the sole contract provider for upper extremity care at WRAMC.

The mobile team from Advanced Arm Dynamics, which consists of certified prosthetists, technicians, a patient coordinator and an occupational therapist, has been working with WRAMC for the last three years and has provided upper extremity prosthetic care to more than 125 upper extremity amputee soldiers.  During that time, over 500 prostheses have been designed and fit for this challenging population. 

One of the soldiers treated at WRAMC is twenty-seven-year-old Sgt. Brian Doyne, who lost his left arm while serving in Iraq with the U.S. Armed Forces.  It was important for Doyne to be able to accomplish anything with his prosthesis that he was doing before he was injured.  “At Walter Reed, it was clear that I was not alone in what I was going through, and then they introduced me to the Advanced Arm Dynamics team, who have met and exceeded my high expectations for my prosthesis and follow-up care,” said Doyne.  Now Brian is back teaching anti-terrorism techniques for various government agencies, lifting weights and awaiting his next challenge.
