John Miguelez, president and senior clinical director, founded Advanced Arm Dynamics (AAD) in 1998. His vision was to provide the highest level of comprehensive upper extremity prosthetic rehabilitation, incorporating advanced technologies and techniques.He has built a nationwide multidisciplinary team of prosthetists, technicians, occupational therapists, case managers and licensed counselors, practicing at AAD's Centers of Excellence across the country.
Mr. Miguelez is engaged in international research and development initiatives with leading upper extremity component manufacturers on education, component design, refinement and beta testing. He has published numerous articles in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Atlas of Amputations and Limb Deficiencies, and is an international lecturer.
In 2003, Mr. Miguelez was asked by the U.S. Department of Defense to establish and lead a team of upper extremity prosthetists at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to provide care to American soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. A team of Advanced Arm Dynamics' senior clinicians remains on-site at the renamed Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as the sole providers of upper extremity prosthetic care.
Formerly, Mr. Miguelez was the vice president and senior clinical director of the Upper Extremity Prosthetic Program at NovaCare, Inc., now Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics. After founding the program in 1991, he successfully led 28 regional upper extremity prosthetic specialists, the Upper Extremity Research and Fabrication Center, and a national team responsible for patient coordination and insurance justification serving 3,000 patients a year.
Mr. Miguelez attended the University of Southern California and received his prosthetics certificate from Northwestern University. He is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist. He is also certified by all leading component manufacturers for upper-extremity prosthetics, and has served as a clinical instructor for Motion Control and Liberating Technologies.
Mr. Miguelez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists(FAAOP) and the former Chair of the AAOP Upper-Limb Prosthetics Society. He is also a member of the board of directors for the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Dan Conyers, national clinical director, supervises a nationwide team of prosthetists at Advanced Arm Dynamics’ (AAD) Centers of Excellence. Under his direction, the centers are unified in a common mission of providing superior upper extremity prosthetic rehabilitation and personalized patient care.
Mr. Conyers has more than 28 years of experience in prosthetics and orthotics, and has been an upper extremity specialist for 16 years. He is involved in international research and development projects, design consulting and beta testing with scientific groups, component manufacturers and individual researchers.
He is a key member of AAD's team of upper extremity specialists at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, providing prosthetic care for American soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also spent nine years as a practice manager and northwest regional upper extremity specialist with Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, and eight years with Orthotic Prosthetic Services, Inc. in Oregon.
Mr. Conyers attended Minnesota's innovative 916 Area Vocational Technical Institute in affiliation with the University of Minnesota-Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He received certificates for Prosthetic Practitioner and Orthotic Practitioner, completed residencies for both disciplines, and is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist/orthotist. He has received additional training in advanced upper extremity applications from all leading component manufacturers.
Mr. Conyers has published articles in the Textbooks of Military Medicine and the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, and presented at numerous symposiums. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) and the AAOP Upper-Limb Prosthetics Society.

Rob Dodson, CPO

Rob Dodson, CPO, is the clinical manager of Advanced Arm Dynamics' (AAD) Southwest Center of Excellence in Dallas, Texas. He joined AAD in 2005.
Previously, Mr. Dodson was a prosthetist /orthotist at the Center for Independent Rehabilitative Services in San Jose, California. In that capacity, he was affiliated with Stanford University Hospital and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, a nationally renowned spinal cord rehabilitation and trauma center.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Texas Southwestern School of Allied Health Sciences. He completed a prosthetic residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and prosthetic and orthotic rotations with the Scottish Rite Hospital and Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics.
Mr. Dodson has been published in the Journal Prosthetics and Orthotics. He is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist/orthotist and is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) and the AAOP Upper-Limb Prosthetics Society.

MacJulian Lang, CPO, is the clinical director of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ (AAD) Northwest Center of Excellence in Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Lang has been practicing upper extremity prosthetics since 2000. He joined the AAD team at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2006 as an upper extremity specialist. He became clinical director at the Northwest Center of Excellence in 2008.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and attended the orthotics and prosthetics program at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He completed residencies in prosthetics and orthotics.
Mr. Lang has published articles in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics and co-authored a chapter on upper extremity prosthetic care in the Care of the Combat Amputee, a medical textbook. He has also presented at in-services, conferences and symposiums on prosthetic research and techniques. He is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist/orthotist, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), the AAOP Upper-Limb Prosthetics Society and the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Patrick Prigge, CP, is the clinical manager of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ (AAD) at the North Central Center of Excellence in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has been an upper extremity specialist with AAD since July 2008.
Previously, Mr. Prigge was the director of prosthetics education for Otto Bock HealthCare in Minneapolis. In that capacity he developed and led a team of prosthetists and occupational therapists in providing education to practitioners and patients on how to improve the use of advanced prosthetic technologies. He was also involved with Otto Bock product development. Mr. Prigge has also worked as a clinical prosthetist with Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics and at Gillette Children’s Hospital.
He received a postgraduate certificate as a prosthetic technician and practitioner from Century College in Minnesota and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Science from St. Cloud State University.
Mr. Prigge is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist, a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) and an officer with the AAOP Upper-Limb Prosthetics Society.

Ryan Spill, CP, is the clinical manager of Advanced Arm Dynamics’ (AAD) Northeast Center of Excellence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Spill joined the AAD team at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2007 as an upper extremity specialist. He became clinical manager of the Northeast Center of Excellence in 2010.
Previously, Mr. Spill was a clinical representative for Motion Control Inc., training prosthetists worldwide in externally powered fitting techniques.
He received a prosthetic certificate from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Spill is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist. He has presented at national and international symposiums on upper limb prosthetics.

Jamie Vandersea, CPO, is the clinical manager of the Advanced Arm Dynamics' (AAD) team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Washington, D.C. He provides upper extremity prosthetic services and rehabilitation to American soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mr. Vandersea joined AAD as a clinical specialist in 2008. He began working with the team at WRNMMC in 2009, and in 2010, was promoted to clinical manager.
Previously, Mr. Vandersea was a prosthetist at Maine Prosthetics and Orthotics. He also spent several years as a specialist with the NovaCare/Hanger Upper Extremity Prosthetic Program in California, and began his career as a prosthetist at Helen Hayes Hospital for rehabilitation in New York.
He received a Bachelor of Science in prosthetics and orthotics from New York University. He has also completed extensive, in-depth education on specific upper extremity components and techniques.
Mr. Vandersea is an American Board for Certification certified prosthetist/orthotist.

Brian Waryck, CP, joined the Advanced Arm Dynamics team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in June 2010. He provides upper extremity prosthetic services and rehabilitation to American soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Previously, Mr. Waryck was a prosthetist and practice manager with Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also managed a clinical prosthetics and orthotics office for New England Brace Company (NEBCO), and began his career as a prosthetist with Shriners Hospitals for Children.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Western New England College and earned his certificate in prosthetics at the Newington Certificate Program.

Scott Spring, CP, joined the Advanced Arm Dynamics team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in February 2011. He provides upper extremity prosthetic services and rehabilitation to American soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Previously, Mr. Spring was the director of prosthetics at Dynamic Orthotics and Prosthetics (now Hanger) in Houston, Texas. He was also a senior prosthetist at Muilenberg Prosthetics in Houston, and a senior prosthetist/orthotist at Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics in Bryan, Texas.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Allied Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education at Texas A & M University. Tiffany Ryan, MOT, OTR/L, joined Advanced Arm Dynamics in September 2010, as rehabilitation coordinator at the Southwest Center of Excellence in Dallas.
Previously, Mrs. Ryan spent six years at the Medical Center of Arlington, first as wellness program coordinator and lead outpatient occupational therapist, and then as manager of Occupational Health and Wellness Services. She also spent six years as a staff occupational therapist at the Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas.
She received a Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Women’s University in Denton and a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Mrs. Ryan is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Texas Occupational Therapy Association. She is also nationally certified as a strength and conditioning specialist.

Jennifer Peterson, MA, PT, joined Advanced Arm Dynamics in November 2010, as rehabilitation coordinator for the North Central Center of Excellence in Minneapolis.
Previously, Mrs. Peterson spent 17 years at Fairview-University Medical Center in Minneapolis where she worked as a staff physical therapist, a wound care physical therapist and a coordinator of clinical education. She developed the course curriculum and taught “Fundamentals of Clinical Wound Care” in the College of St. Catherine’s physical therapy program for six years. She has also presented lectures at the University of Minnesota and the Fairview Rehabilitation Services Continuing Education Program.
She graduated summa cum laude from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science and a Master of Arts in Physical Therapy.
Mrs. Peterson is a member of the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA), a certified Parent Peer Visitor for the ACA, and has been a contributing writer to inMotion magazine. She is on the leadership committee for the Little Fins Limb Difference Family Support Group.

Kerstin Baun, MPH, OTR/L

kbaun@armdynamics.comPreviously, Mrs. Baun provided occupational therapy services, including staff training and supervision in areas of sensory integration and assistive technology, for school districts in Oregon, Washington and Vermont. Earlier in her career, she spent 10 years practicing occupational therapy in hospital and home care settings.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1990 at the University of British Columbia. In 2008, she received a Master of Public Health at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she was the recipient of the Delta Omega Academic Excellence Award.
Mrs. Baun is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is a licensed occupational therapist in Oregon and Washington.
