Mark Betters

Finger and Partial Hand Amputee

Mark is a construction superintendent whose left thumb, index finger and middle finger were crushed on the job in 2017. His first concern was not to miss out on any of the fun family activities that he shares with his wife and three kids. Mark was fitted with a passive partial hand prosthesis, grateful to return to work and resume a full life with no regrets about his accident.

Prosthesis Details

  • Custom partial hand prosthesis with two Point Design passive positional digits

  • Mark enhanced his prosthetic function when he chose to have a toe transferred to his hand to take the place of the thumb he lost. This unique option improves his ability to use his prosthesis in a more natural way.

"There’s nothing lacking in my life because of my accident. With my Point Digits and my new thumb, it just feels natural. I was able to go back to work quickly and without limitations."
