Our Arm Dynamics centers offer consultations both in-person and over video chat. Our goal is that at the end of the meeting, you will walk away with more knowledge than you started with, specific to your amputation level, regardless of whether or not you choose to receive care from us.

There are different ways that you may set up a meeting with one of our centers: your doctor may give you the contact information for a specific center that they recommend; or you may contact us using the Drop Us a Line form that you can find at the bottom of any of our pages on the Arm Dynamics site, including this page.

After determining some basic information and the most convenient time to meet with you, we will schedule a consultation. One of those requested pieces of information regards your health insurance, so that we can discuss with you what your insurance may cover. If you don’t have health insurance, or your health insurance does not cover prosthetic devices, that is not a barrier to having a consultation. We still want to help you learn more about your options.

Once your evaluation gets started, it will include a detailed discussion of your personal and professional goals, applicable prosthetic options for your level of limb loss, a demonstration of the latest prosthetic technologies and creation of a customized prosthetic rehabilitation plan to make sure you have the tools and training you need to achieve your goals. For your part, you’ll have many opportunities to ask any questions that you’ve prepared, or think of at the time.

If you do come into our center, we are often able to give you a brief tour (or if you do a video chat, you can watch videos that showcase each center). You may be able meet other prosthetic users. We welcome you to invite a friend or family member if you think it would be helpful to have someone accompany you.

Many patients ask us when they should come in following an amputation. The answer is as soon as they are ready! We are happy to meet with people while they are still healing. Insurance claims can take a long time to process and it's best to get started learning about your options as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. You can learn more in our article, "Following Your Amputation, When Should You Meet with a Prosthetist?"

If you’re interested in a preoperative consultation or are having issues with your socket design or prosthetic fit from another provider, our clinical team can formulate a comprehensive plan to address your concerns and discuss ways to enhance your user experience.

We can’t wait to meet you and learn more about what you need to achieve your goals! If you have a question about meeting with us, please feel free to comment below, or fill out the form on our Contact Us page.
